TITLE:            Vice President Global Process Development, Validation and Analytical Sciences (JH15546)

Reports to:   Chief Scientific Officer

Location:       New Jersey

 The Vice President Global Process Development, Validation and Analytical Sciences is a highly visible position central to the continued growth and profitability of Revlon’s global personal care/cosmetic products business at retail and in professional channels. Will lead the organizations efforts to anticipate, and/or outpace current industry trends and help create strategies that will guide the company through the rapidly changing consumer landscape and position the organization for long-term and sustainable success.

Leveraging deep CPG domain knowledge; and their full breadth and depth of technical experience, will lead the development and ongoing management of our global capabilities in Process Development and Validation, Analytical Chemistry, Raw Materials Assessment, Lab Methodology, Instrumentation and Facility Management.

With innate interpersonal skills, tested industry relevance, exceptional executive gravitas and presence, this position will work across all levels and functions of the organization to craft and execute winning strategies. He/she will manage, track and prioritize activity with a prioritized focus on Global Process Development & Validation and Analytical Sciences groups.

Position Overview

  • Manage Global Process Development function to develop efficient, robust and cost effective processes that support new product launches; manage technology transfer process to global manufacturing sites, support bulk manufacturing and F&A operation, and support manufacturing efforts of TPMs around the globe
  • Manage Analytical Science Group to address global regulatory inquiries, new technology development, product safety, formula development needs and raw material qualification requirements
  • Support other achievement of overall R&D business objectives by delivering (a) technology bundles to product categories on time, (b) accurate and reliable analytical results to meet regulatory, safety and formula development requirements, (c) efficient processes for new product launches, and (d) alternative raw material source for cost reduction
  • Complete budgetary planning by balancing strategic directions and near term business needs, and monitor annual budget judiciously
  • Design, develop and implement global facility, equipment, process and method standardization to ensure consistent, safe and best-practice
  • Develop relationships with key raw material vendors to access new and unique functional raw materials
  • Identify alternative sources for existing raw materials to ensure business continuity and price stability
  • Identify quality alternative sources for raw material for continued optimization of cost structure of Company products
  • Partner with all Marketing team and R&D functional groups to ensure that technology development programs are aligned with the business plans to ensure that research efforts are focused on needs areas

Experience/Skills Required

·         Global experience leading process development, validation, and analytical sciences in cosmetics and/or personal care products

·         In depth knowledge on chemistry, material science, physics, formulation science, chemical engineering, and their applications in cosmetic product formulation and processes

·         Demonstrated excellence in people management including timely coaching and feedback, effective high performance team building, and mentoring high potential individuals.

·         Clear understanding regarding business objectives and leadership skills of identifying directions for achieving business results and objectives

·         Ability to lead the development of quality consumer products as well as knowledge of cosmetic related law and the ability to administer a budget and supervise staff

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·         Must exhibit strong cross cultural and functional collaboration skills

·         Should have highly developed business/financial acumen

·         MS in Science, Engineering or related scientific disciplines, Ph.D. or significant industry experience desired
